Trump extends suspension of tariffs against China

The US president has extended the tariff pause against China for another 90 days, hours before the end of the latest trade truce.
Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday, just hours before the expiration of the last agreement between the world's two largest economies, postponing the application of generalized tariffs, according to the international press.
The previous agreement was due to expire shortly after midnight on Tuesday. The new executive order will prevent customs duties on Chinese products imported into the United States from rising to 145%.
China's Foreign Ministry reacted in a statement, saying that it hopes the two countries will follow the important consensus reached and achieve positive results based on equality and mutual benefit.
It should be noted that on May 12, the US and China agreed to temporarily reduce the so-called "reciprocal tariffs" for a period of 90 days.
US tariffs on Chinese imports fell from 145% to 30%. In turn, the tariffs imposed by China on American products were reduced from 125% to 10%.
