"Terrorists wrote on people's bodies, but many died..." according to witness
The terrorists in Cabo Delgado seem to be defying the security speeches made by government structures, which report on security in the districts of the province.
In recent weeks, however, several reports about the attacks have made the headlines. This week, the Minister of National Defense, Cristóvão Chume, expressed his dissatisfaction with the recent attacks, especially in Ancuabe and Chiúre-Velho.

Speaking to journalists, he said that the situation had forced the displacement of around 12,000 people.
Some people went down to Nampula province in search of shelter. Ikweli Newspaper interviewed those who experienced moments of terror:
"We're running away from the alshababs. Since sunset last Saturday, they entered the village, started grabbing people and writing on their bodies a value of 100,000 meticais, as a way of charging them. Those who didn't have any were taken away, or even beaten, after the population asked the local structures for support, a group of naparamas and soldiers arrived to help us, and that's when the war started, many alshababs began to die," he said.
The source, a member of a family of 11 who managed to reach the outskirts of central Nampula, said that they traveled a long distance over three days, stopping only once in Namapa.
"...in the area where we were in Namapa there was no space left, all the houses had already been displaced, that's when we came here to the secretary's house to ask for support," he said. They are in the communal unit of Nicutha, administrative post of Napipine, on the outskirts of the city of Nampula.
"Due to the attacks by these terrorists, many people were seriously injured and were taken to Namapa hospital, others were taken and killed, I have two uncles who were tortured by these terrorists, one was beaten and is also in hospital, and another handed over 86,000 meticais and was taken, now we don't know where he went or his cell phone," he added.
