Geny Catamo's Sporting lose first Portuguese league derby

Sporting de Geny Catamo perde no primeiro clássico do campeonato português

Sporting Clube de Portugal, of Mozambican international Geny Catamo, lost yesterday against FC Porto (1-2), in the 4th round of the Portuguese League. The goals came from Luuk de Jong (61'), William Gomes (64') and Nehuén Pérez [(74') own goal]..

According to a report in Jornal Desafio, Geny Catamo came on as a starter, added depth to the Lions' attack and even created a move in which Sporting claimed a penalty.

The "dragons" went to the José Alvalade Stadium with a vitality that hadn't been seen for a long time, achieving an undisputed victory in the first derby of the championship.

With this result, Sporting are in third place with nine points, the same as Moreirense, in fourth, while FC Porto are isolated leaders with 12 points, two more than Famalicão, in second.
