Reinildo passes first test at Sunderland

Mozambican international Reinildo Mandava made his (unofficial) debut for Sunderland this Saturday (02) against Real Betis.
Wearing number 17 on his back, Reinildo Mandava did very well in his first test for the "black cats", leaving good indications and a willingness to give everything for the team, so much so that on his departure he was applauded by the fans for his commitment.
Sunderland gave a positive assessment of the Mozambican's debut for the historic English club, a fact that had been expected since the announcement of his signing.
"A very successful debut for Sunderland. He played as a center-back, not his strongest position, but one he has played a lot in the past. Made good decisions with the ball and defended with confidence and without problems. Very good," wrote the Sunderland Echo, as quoted by the Spherical.
French coach Régis Le Bris was not indifferent to the Mozambican's good performance. "I think we added new building blocks today with a little more experience in the team," said Le Bris.
Mandava was eventually substituted in the 62nd minute, just before Real Betis scored the only goal of the game with which the English team lost the match.
At the end of the match, the Mozambican international said he was happy with his debut.
"I feel really good. To be here at Sunderland and to play on this beautiful pitch, this great stadium, which supported us for the first time. I feel really good. I'm very, very happy. The first impression was good".
Despite the defeat, Mandava says the team will be ready for the start of the Premier League in two weeks' time.
"We know we have two pre-season games. So I think we're on the right track to be ready for the first league game. So we keep pushing, we keep working until the first game."
Reinildo Mandava will make his debut against West Ham on the opening day of the Premier League season.
