Mozambican international Reinildo Mandava enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon on his Premier League debut on Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes in his Sunderland AFC side's impressive 3-0 win over West Ham United in the first match of the English league season.

Accustomed to playing in the big games of European soccer, Mandava didn't flinch, had a confident display and showed why he was one of the coach's bets for the start of the season.

The goals were scored by Mayenda (61'), D. Ballard (73') and W. Isidor (90+2'), sealing the win and securing Sunderland's first three points in the competition.

Mandava's big debut in one of the most competitive leagues in the world reinforces the confidence that the Mozambican full-back can be an important part of the club's progress this season.

In fact, after the final whistle Reinildo shared a message of motivation on social media, underlining the collective focus for the challenges still to come:

"Great win and three important points to start the season. A solid first step, but we know the road is long. We'll keep working every day with motivation, determination and a hunger to grow as a team," he wrote.

Sunderland AFC picked up their first three points of the season in what won't be an easy task, and they'll have a stern test in the next round when they face the almighty Chelsea.
