Manicaː Adolescente fabrica combustível usando resíduos sólidos

Manicaː Teenager makes fuel using solid waste

His name is Clinton Njanje, he is 14 years old and he is developing a project to make fuel from solid waste in Chimoio, Manica province.
Clinton Njanje is a grade 10 student, and says that the idea arose from the need to reduce the levels of pollution in the environment, which is tending to grow.
Using recyclable materials, Clinton has built a working prototype that turns plastic into raw fuel. The young inventor says that the fuel can later be refined for use in different types of engines.
"Here we have this pot in which we put the plastic and it melts. As it heats up, it releases a gas which, when it gets here, cools down and that's how we produce the fuel," he says, quoted in the newspaper "O País".
"I did this experiment with our country in mind, because today, especially in Beira, Sofala province, we have a lot of solid waste pollution and garbage, which is plastic. So here, from plastic, we transformed it and made fuel," he said.
The fuel resulting from the project is raw and, according to Clinton, can be refined and used in different types of engines.
