Mambinhas Sub-17 conquistam Torneio Luso-Cascais

The National Under-17 Football Team were crowned champions of the Luso-Cascais Tournament after beating their Guinea-Bissau counterparts 3-2 in the final on Saturday in Lisbon, Portugal.

The winning goals came from Chausson, who scored twice in the match and was voted the best player on the pitch, and Jayden, who scored the Mambinhas' third goal.

With this win, the Mambinhas end the competition with a 100% record, with four wins in as many games, and an impressive record of 15 goals scored and just 3 conceded.

In the first round, the Mambinhas beat Macau 6-2, and in the second round they beat São Tomé and Príncipe 3-1. In the penultimate round they eliminated Angola 3-0, and in the final they beat Guinea-Bissau 3-2.

Participation in the tournament, held in Lisbon, served not only as preparation for future African competitions, but also as an affirmation of the emerging talent in Mozambican youth soccer.
