Mais de 10 milhões de pessoas em risco devido ao corte de ajuda humanitária

More than 10 million people at risk due to humanitarian aid cuts

More than 10 million people forced to flee their countries risk losing crucial aid for their survival this year due to significant cuts in funding by donor countries, particularly the United States.
The warning comes from the United Nations Refugee Agency, UNHCR, according to the newspaper "O País".
The more than 10 million people at risk of losing aid for their survival represent around a third of the population that UNHCR supports.
According to the source, last year the agency supported 36 million people in 135 countries, a figure that is expected to fall dramatically.
Among the most affected people are those in the regions of Chad and Sudan.
In the refugee camps, the displaced Sudanese say that life is very difficult and shelter is a luxury, in a scenario where humanitarian aid organizations have very little to distribute.
The situation of vulnerability is critical, especially for children and women, who are at risk of contracting various diseases, mainly because of the precarious living and hygiene conditions.
