Dominguez esclarece os motivos da sua ausência nos jogos dos Mambas

The captain of the national soccer team, Elias Gaspar Pelembe, or simply Dominguez, explained this Saturday (30), in a letter addressed to Chiquinho Conde, the national coach, the reasons why he was unable to represent the country on the last FIFA date in March with a view to the 2026 World Cup..

Dominguez reacted to Conde's comments about whether or not he was willing to represent the Mambas by sending a letter to the national coach, Chiquinho Conde.

"Respected Mr. Francisco Conde Júnior, national soccer coach! I am taking the initiative to write to you with the sole aim of clarifying, formally and in a documented manner, the reasons why it was not possible for my passport to arrive in time to follow up on bureaucratic aspects within the scope of the preparation for the matches against the national teams of Uganda and Algeria, on March 20 and 25, and referring to the fifth and sixth qualifying rounds for the 2026 World Cup," reads the letter.

According to a Lance MozIn the letter, Dominguez clarified that his passport had even arrived at the FMF headquarters to follow the usual bureaucratic processes after problems with his flight to Maputo.

"While it wasn't possible to send the passport from Tete to Maputo, Mr. Énio Saíze, the national team coordinator, was duly informed of what was happening. When I received the information that the document was already in Maputo, Mr. Énio Saíze replied that it was no longer necessary because, in my place, the national coach had called another colleague," explains the player, adding that "the reasons why my passport didn't arrive on time at the Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) were, in real time, the domain of the administrative structure of the National Team and the FMF Board."

Dominguez said in his letter that he was available for the national team, as he has represented the national team for 21 years.

"I have represented the national team since 2004 and, for 21 years, and also while I was captain, I have been and always try to be loyal to whoever I am as national coach, member of the technical team, fellow athletes, the team's administrative structure, the executive board and officials of the Mozambican Football Federation, the government, fans and all public and private institutions, legal and natural persons who interact with the national team," the letter reads.

The Mambas captain last played for the national team in 2024 and has yet to play for the Pearl of the Indian Ocean this year.
