PRM General Command reopens vacancies for basic training

A total of 4,000 vacancies are available for entry into the ranks of the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM), through the XLIV Basic Training Course for Police Guards, which will last nine months and will be held at the Practical Police School in Matalana, Maputo province, starting in January 2026.
A PRM announcement indicates that registration will take place from August 18 to September 30 this year, at PRM provincial and district commands, for a non-refundable fee of 450 meticais.
According to the document, Mozambican citizens of original nationality can apply, aged between 18 and 30 by 2026, with a minimum height of 1.70 meters for men and 1.65 meters for women.
Candidates must have a minimum education of grade 12 or equivalent and be in good physical and mental condition to perform the police duties.
Preference will be given to those who have completed compulsory military service.
The selection process includes physical fitness tests from October 13 to 23, 2025, and a medical inspection from October 25 to November 10, 2025, both of which are eliminatory, as well as a written test, interview and public hearing.
Among the documents required are a birth certificate, identity card, school-leaving certificate, passport-size photograph, proof of military service, residence certificate, NUIT and an active bank account.
It should be noted that the basic training course for police guards had been interrupted for a period of three years by the former Commander General of the PRM in order to restructure internally.
